ASHRI
Scarf Collection
Inspired by the Nubian crafts, the Ashri Collection highlights the colorful essence of Nuba, Upper Egypt. The name Ashri means beautiful in Nubian which is what is represented in the collection. Hermes is looking to launch a capsule collection for the Middle East. Ashri was created to be part of the Middle East Hermes collection of 45x45cm scarves.
Inspiration
The shapes and patterns created were inspired by hanging colorful decorations, and the overlapping of the shapes illustrated how they are hanged in the local markets when they are being sold to create another colorful pattern.
Process
The sketching for the collection began with illustrating multiple types of crafts such as fans, baskets and decorations and then it was abstracted to the circular decorative element which was repeated and overlapped to create the final outcome which better represents the inspiration and the essence of Nuba.
Color your own Ashri
As a part of the Ashri collection "Color your own Ashri" is an interactive scarf which encourages people to explore their own color variations by creating a plain black and white canvas. This gives them room for creativity to create their own one of a kind scarf.
